Sonnet 13: Final Clearance

DPS blur 13 Final Clearance

“You clamp your ear to the keyless hole, / hear the gasp of the airless room”

• Tamar Yoseloff on Final Clearance: “This is for me the most hopeless of the images, utterly bleak, without any redemption.  I wanted to write a poem about the finality of ‘final’, the end of the end. Although the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre is the perfect location, this could be anywhere, really, a place which has fought and struggled, and ultimately lost.”

• The full sonnet is published in Formerly, available here
