Sonnet 6: Duk of gton

DPS blur 06 Duk of gton

“Gone, the days of ho fun duck, / back of the truck fooling around”

• Tamar Yoseloff on Duk  of     gton: “The first word of the poem is a nod to the sign’s missing letters, but what follows is an attempt to stick to the sound patterns of the remaining letters. The sign sheds these on a regular basis, as if the pub is slowly losing its identity (in an area that has belonged to many different groups of people). But inside, it’s as if time stands still.”

• The full sonnet is published in Formerly, available here
Duk of gton has also appeared in the poetry anthology Adventures in Form, edited by Tom Chilvers (Penned in the Margins, £9.99, ISBN 978-1-908058-01-0)
